HEIC to JPG — Tool #6
The tool uses @su-engineering/heic@0.2.0 (MIT) and, only when needed, the separately served libheif-js@1.23.5 decoder (LGPL-3.0), built from libheif 1.23.5 and libde265 1.0.15 using Emscripten 3.1.61. The browser loads decoder JavaScript and WebAssembly as separate same-origin files, so a compatible modified pair can be substituted without rebuilding the MuraTools application.
- Decoder JavaScript and decoder WebAssembly (separate replaceable assets).
- Exact npm package archive and libheif-js source at commit d8ec4bc3bc5bf8055975577bccbbc7e1d7313c2d.
- libheif-emscripten v1.23.5 source; its recorded submodule is supplied separately as libheif commit 413e2a87e6a70b3eccc3a3adc5801179dd2d9e00.
- libde265 1.0.15 source.
Build and replacement
Verify downloaded runtime/source files against the published SHA-256 manifest.
The pinned upstream build workflow uses Ubuntu 22.04, Emscripten 3.1.61, Node.js 24 and TypeScript 5; build-emscripten.sh defaults to libde265 1.0.15. The source archives above preserve the tagged build wrapper and exact source revisions. To rebuild, unpack the three source archives, populate the libheif submodule directory from the supplied libheif archive, install the pinned Emscripten SDK, then run the upstream build-emscripten.sh with USE_WASM=1, USE_TYPESCRIPT=1, and USE_UNSAFE_EVAL=0; follow the v1.23.5 emscripten workflow and dist-prep.sh wasm. Replace libheif.js and libheif.wasm together at /vendor/heic/, retaining the same filenames and compatible Emscripten module interface. The web application and its adapter remain separate and unchanged. Rebuilding and byte-for-byte reproducibility have not been demonstrated in this Windows environment.
The corresponding tool application code is available in the site source: Tool #6 application source bundle. It contains the HEIC page/module and the associated image-format helper. For purposes of enabling modification/relinking with a compatible decoder, that bundle is offered under the MIT License; see its included license and source manifest. This offer is specific to the bundled Tool #6 source and does not relicense the rest of MuraTools.
PDF Compressor — PDF.js
PDF Compressor uses pdfjs-dist@5.4.394 (Apache-2.0) only for the optional Medium and High rasterization paths. PDF.js and its worker are loaded lazily from same-origin built assets. The PDF.js license text is available here. Low uses the existing @cantoo/pdf-lib@2.11.1 (MIT) dependency.
